Many thanks to Hot Stove Society for hosting The Seattle Restaurant Alliance in-person/virtual monthly meeting yesterday.

The first portion of our meeting featured a presentation from Jennifer Danner and Joseph Elenbaas, Crime Prevention Coordinators at the Seattle Police Department. They discussed best practices in de-escalation and protecting your business.

Here are a few highlights:

For our second presentation, Pui Shum with Public Health — Seattle & King County (PHSKC) give a presentation on the top five changes to the food code and the current educational period.

Also be sure to check out our Quick Bites toolkit that has short videos, FAQs and a webinar replay related to these food code changes that went into effect March 1. We have Active Managerial Control toolkits from the state Department of Health on date marking, pet dogs, vomit & diarrhea clean-up plan, and refillable containers. We expect additional toolkits from the DOH to be published soon.

Next Meeting:

The next meeting will be on May 4.
