We hope you’ve had an enjoyable and busy summer! As we approach the back-to-school season, we’re excited to resume our monthly membership meetings to discuss topics that are important to you. Our first meeting is right around the corner:

When: 10 a.m., Sept. 3
Where: Greenwood American Bistro
8501 Greenwood Ave N

We are pleased to welcome Amy Barden, Chief of Seattle CARE (Community Assisted Response and Engagement). She will join us to provide an overview of her department and explore how our organizations can work together to improve safety for both customers and employees.

The CARE Department, established in 2023, was created to coordinate safety responses to emergency and non-emergency calls. In addition to operating the 9-1-1 response team, CARE oversees the non-emergency line and manages the Community Crisis Responders, who support the Seattle Police Department in responding to individuals experiencing mental health crises.

Chief Barden will share her department’s mission and priorities, but she’s equally eager to hear from our members — about the challenges you’ve encountered, your questions and any feedback or suggestions you may have. If you’re concerned about public safety in Seattle, we encourage you to attend and take part in the conversation.

In addition to hearing from Chief Barden, we have updates on the upcoming Seattle elections and the recent B&O tax proposal.

We are excited to see everyone and hope you can make it! Please RSVP using the form if you are attending. Additionally, we have added a section to the form where you can submit your ideas for topics for future meetings. This meeting is for Seattle restaurant owners and operators only.
