We were happy to be joined by Shelby Pemberton from the Washington Hospitality Association, who shared information about ServSafe Manager, the Washington Hospitality Association’s Certified Food Protection Manager certification.

Here are a few resources and highlights from the presentation:

  • ServSafe Manager is an advanced food safety certification created by the National Restaurant Association.
  • This certification ensures you are compliant with all aspects of the Washington State Food Code.
  • Classes are available in person throughout the state, as well as online. Private classes are available for groups of 10 or more.
  • To learn more about ServSafe Manager, visit this link here.

We had an engaging panel on the topic of tip pooling with Charlie Anthe of Moshi Moshi Sushi, Brian Canlis of Canlis, Michelle Diede of Ivar’s, Amy Fair Gunnar of Portage Bay Café, Uttam Mukherjee of Spice Waala, and Ethan Stowell of Ethan Stowell Restaurants.

We were also joined by Catharine Morisset who shared resources for businesses having questions about tip pooling. We have an FAQ section about tip pooling on the members-only section of the Washington Hospitality Association’s website. Contact your territory manager if you need help logging in for the first time.
