This month, we were joined by board members Todd Carden and Trey Lamont who discussed marketing on social media and how things have changed since the pandemic.
Here are a few highlights from that discussion:
- No matter the size of your business, you can harness the power of social media to advertise your business and communicate service model changes to your customers
- Operators suggested featuring restaurant owners and/or staff on social media to create engagement with customers
- Do your research to learn about the peak times to post to different social media accounts to have the most reach
- Having the right person in charge of your social media is a huge factor in the success of utilizing it for marketing
Your Local Government Affairs team gave a legislative update. They shared updates about the city budget process and the amendments they are tracking closely. They also shared that the city of Seattle released a Storefront Repair Fund that grants small business owners $2,000 towards repairs. The team recognizes that this is a small drop in the bucket and is working on gathering data from this applicant pool to encourage continuation and expansion of the pilot program.
